Summary

Mr. Chambers has both Fortune 100 in-house experience and large firm experience, with an extensive corporate/securities and business transaction background. Mr. Chambers was  selected as a finalist for Outstanding General Counsel by “D CEO” Magazine and was invited to be included in the Super Lawyers publication for 2025 and 2026. Throughout his career he was peer rated with the highest possible rating a lawyer can receive for legal ability and ethical standards. 

Current Position

Associate Judge, Haslet Municipal Court

2009 - Present

Adjudicate fine-only crimes  (Class C misdemeanors) such as assault, theft, traffic violations, city ordinance violations, alcohol and tobacco violations by minors, and other fine-only crimes.


Prior Judicial Experience

 Presiding Judge, Trophy Club Municipal Court: 1997 - 2018.
Municipal Judge, Roanoke Municipal Court: 2011 - 2017.
Presiding Judge, Westlake Municipal Court: 1997 - 2001.

Prior Law Practice Experience

 Corporate Counsel, Southwest Airlines Co. 
 1998 - 2000

Primary responsibility for Southwest’s corporate and business transactions, as well as the legal requirements status as a publicly-traded company (such as the Annual Report to Shareholders and Proxy Statement). Also provided legal support to different departments across the company on day-to-day business law issues


General Counsel,
Texas Motor Speedway


Legal:  From 2006 to 2013, responsible for all legal matters for the business operations of the Speedway, including litigation, contracts, NASCAR race operations  and other racing activities, real estate leasing and condominium operations, licensing of luxury suites and other parts of the facility for third party business operations;

Governmental Relations: Responsible for governmental relations between the Speedway and city, state, and Federal elected officials and their respective staff.  Hosted a luxury suite for such dignitaries.

Since 1982, worked at a number of AV-rated law firms such as:

Vial, Hamilton, Koch & Knox.

Prior Federal Government Experience

Branch Chief, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, reviewing initial public offerings for compliance with disclosure laws and providing interpretations of securities laws for the public. Prior thereto, in the Enforcement Division, investigated and obtained permanent injunctions for violations of the anti-fraud and registration provisions of Federal securities laws and regulations.

Graduate Level Teaching Experience

Adjunct Professor, Graduate School of Business, University of Texas at Arlington from 1985 to 1987.  Taught corporation law, one of the two courses required to graduate with an MBA Masters degree.

Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, 1982.
